Aashram directed by Prakash Jha returns to MX Player with its third season. The political crime drama received much love and appreciation for seasons 1 and 2. One and all lauded the show for brilliant performances and a bewitching storyline. Ashram web series features Bobby Deol as Baba Nirala, Chandan Roy Sanyal as Bhopa Swami, Aditi Sudhir Pohankar as Pammi, and Darshan Kumaar as Ujagar Singh. Prakash Jha has opened up on his selection of Bobby Deol as Baba Nirala for Aashram. He cleared the air on why he chose Bobby Deol as the lead actor in Aashram.
Why Bobby Deol was picked for MX Player’s Aashram Web Series?
Ek Badnaam… Aashram, produced and directed by Prakash Jha, the MX Original Series will release the third installment on June 3. Talking to the media, Mr. Jha revealed what made him pick Bobby Deol in the lead. He was questioned, “What made you actually think that Bobby Deol was the right choice as the title role?” To this Prakash Jha smartly replied: “Aapke pass koi alternative hai? (Do you have any alternative?)”
He continued saying: “Mujhe nahi nazar aaya koi dusra alternative. Mera jo character hai uski presence, personality aur anadar ki layers ke liye mujhe aisa lag raha tha ki bohot hi badhiya actor hai. Bohot pehle hi samjh raha tha uske pass bohot bada range hai jo kabhi istemal nahi hua hai. Ye god’s honest truth hai ki humare pass koi dusra naam nahi aaya. Maine Bobby Deol ka naam kaha aur MX player ne humari har decision ko saath diya hai. Aur parinaam aap dekh sakte hai ki bobby deol baba kitne bade hogaye hai.”
Further joking, he said, “shayad kuch alternative bhi soch rae hai.”
“I couldn’t think of any alternative for the presence, personality and layers of the character. I long back understood Bobby Deol is a great fit. He has a wide range as an actor which was never utilized before. To be honest, we had no other name and when I suggest Bobby name MX Player accepted it just like they supported all our decisions. Now the results are seen. Bobby Deol our very own Baba has traveled far and now maybe thinking an alternative,” ended the director on a fun note.
The MX Player original Aasharam directed by Prakash Jha is a crime drama web series. Produced by Prakash Jha productions, the show talks about the dirty games of Baba Nirala revealing more colours of Baba’s Aashram in every episode and season.
Aashram Web-Series Cast: The key cast of Aashram Season 3 includes Bobby Deol, Aaditi Pohankar, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Darshan Kumaar, Anupria Goenka and Adhyayan Suman.
