Actor Sushant Singh Rajput has become the talk of the town ever since his untimely demise. The 34-year old actor died of suicide on June 14, 2020, and this news sent shockwaves across the country. I also led to heated arguments on the topic of nepotism and the existence of powerful gangs in the Bollywood industry. With every twist, something new is revealed each day in the late actor’s death case.
Meanwhile, according to some reports, a young theatre and television actor names Hasan Khan from Pakistan is gearing up to essay the role Sushant Singh Rajput in a digital series which will be allegedly produced by Amazon Prime Video.
Speaking of the same, filmmaker Ashoke Pandit questioned the complete embargo on all cultural exchanges with our neighbouring country as all of it is still in place. He further added, “All trade and cultural cross-border exchange remain suspended. There is no question of an actor from across the border playing Sushant or anybody.”
Currently, the public is still mourning the untimely death of Sushant Singh Rajput and there is no doubt that everyone’s emotions are running high. Pertaining to the on-going situation it will be ludicrous to cast a Pakistani actor to play Sushant.
Before making a film on Sushant, there are a bunch of questions that must be answered. Whether the full story of the late actor’s life and death will be used for any film in the making, and most importantly will Sushant’s family will be taken into confidence before attempting to make a movie or series on his life. The question that stands out like a sore thumb is that is this the right timing for a Pakistani actor to play the beloved Indian actor, especially taking into consideration the political tension running between the two countries.
Veteran actor Shekhar Suman who is in support of the campaign seeking justice for Sushant says that the idea of Pakistani actor playing Sushant is unacceptable to him.
However, it is speculated that all of it is basically a rumour as neither of the parties has reacted to the reports.
