It is now confirmed, that Ranbir Kapoor is set to portray Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash as Ravan in Nitesh Tiwari’s adaptation of the Ramayan for the big screen. Reports suggest that filming is slated to commence in March this year. Recent updates reveal that the casting team at Prime Focus’ Mumbai headquarters has begun the search for actors to play the roles of young Ram and Lakshman.

South Actor Naveen Polishetty To Play “Laxman” In Ramayan?
According to a report by Mid Day, the filmmaker is expected to finalize the cast within the next two weeks. There are rumors suggesting that Naveen Polishetty is in discussions for the role of Lakshman, while Ranbir Kapoor is set to portray Lord Ram. The casting team, along with Nitesh Tiwari, is assessing whether the actors chosen for the younger and older versions of Ram and Lakshman are suitable. Presently, there are four or five young actors being considered for the roles.
However, an official confirmation is still awaited. Previously it was reported that The Archies actor and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda was approached for the role of Laxman in the film, however, he declined the offer.
Ramayan Cast
Meanwhile, talking about the cast of Nitesh Tiwari’s film, Ramayan is believed actor Ranbir Kapoor will play the role of lord Ram, Sunny Deol has been approached for the role of Hanuman, Yash will be seen as Ravan, Bobby Deol as Kumbhakarna, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, and Vijay Sethupathi as Vibhishan. On the other hand, Sai Pallavi and Janhvi Kapoor have been in talks for the role of goddess Sita.
