Mika Singh Reveals He Suffered A Loss Of Rs 15 Crore: ‘Returned Money To Some People’

Mika Expressed His Readiness For A Comeback, Sharing His Plans To Resume Work And Recording During The Upcoming Week

Singer Mika Singh recently disclosed a substantial loss of Rs 15 crore due to the postponement of his shows. While on a world tour, his health encountered a setback just a few days ago. After his performances in the US, he was set to continue with shows in Bali, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Australia. However, continuous shows in the US strained his throat, prompting medical advice for rest.

In a conversation with Hindustan Times, he shared, “In my 24-year-long career, this is the first time that I had to postpone my shows because of my health. I am always very careful when it comes to my health, and take all precautions, especially my throat.”

Mika further elaborated, “We would go to the venue shortly after landing at the destination. The last show was in Dallas where I started to experience discomfort. It had a negative impact on my throat due to my existing exhaustion. Although I tried to avoid this decision, the doctor advised against traveling 25 hours to Australia and performing. The potential toll on my body made it necessary for me to heed the doctor’s advice. That’s why I didn’t come to India either.”

Acknowledging the financial ramifications, he said, “We have suffered a loss of around ₹10-15 crore because we had back-to-back shows. I also returned money to some people. But I am glad everyone supported me, and fans also understood my position. It was important for me to postpone instead of playing the songs through CD or lip-sync in the name of a live show, which many singers do these days. Aaj tak ki saari mehnat, image, respect, sab kharab ho jaati,” the singer explained.

Looking ahead, Mika expressed his readiness for a comeback, sharing his plans to resume work and recording during the upcoming week. He has a few recordings lined up to recover the losses. After that, he intends to reschedule performances in destinations like Bali, Singapore, Malaysia, and Jakarta, aiming for January or February next year for most of the shows.
