CM Mamata Banerjee’s Hilarious Speech On Chandrayaan-3: ‘When Rakesh Roshan Landed On The Moon’

As everyone is busy celebrating the success of Chandrayaan-3’s successful landing on the moon on 23 August 2023, netizens noticed that once upon a time, ‘Bollywood actor Rakesh Roshan also landed on the lunar surface’.

This revelation was made by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, leaving everyone in splits and sparking a meme fest on the micro-blogging site ‘X.’ She said, “I remember when they reached the moon, Indira Gandhi asked Rakesh Roshan how India looked from there, from space.”

It seems that Banerjee was confused, mixing up Rakesh Sharma, the astronaut, with filmmaker Rakesh Roshan. Additionally, another mistake was made when she mentioned that the astronaut had reached the moon. However, Sharma did not actually go to the moon.

Netizens quickly reacted to this and created hilarious memes by morphing images of Rakesh Roshan to depict him as an astronaut.

The ‘X’ user who shared the video wrote the caption, “Mamata Banerjee: ‘I still remember, when Rakesh Roshan landed on the moon surface, Indira Gandhi asked him how India looks from above*.'”
