Liger Books Early Ticket To OTT, Disney+ Hotstar To Stream Movie From This Date

Liger released in theaters on 25th August and is now set to premiere digitally.

Liger starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday was a debacle. The film struggled to make good figures and earn remuneration at the box office. Liger released in theaters on 25th August and is now set to premiere digitally. The sports drama Liger will stream from September 22 on Disney+ Hotstar.

The streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar bought all the rights to stream the movie. Reportedly, the OTT channel bought the rights for an amount of Rs 65 Crore for Liger in all languages. The movie will be premiering digitally four weeks after its theatrical release.

However, according to new rules and regulations, any movie will release on OTT after completing eight weeks of theatrical release. After the new law was imposed Liger will be releasing within 4 weeks, a month before completing the required eight weeks. Nevertheless, it is still good news for those who didn’t watch the movie on the big screen can watch it at home.

Liger is the story of a Mumbai slumdog boy who aims to become a boxer. The Telugu star plays a titular role in the rags to riches story of the MMA champion. The movie marks the debut of Vijay in Bollywood and the first pan-India movie of Ananya Panday.

The movie was massively promoted across the country. The movie had faced boycott trend on social media and failed to make business in theaters. However, it received mixed reviews, while Vijay Deverakonda’s performance was praised Ananya Panday was trolled for poor acting.

The movie is written, directed, and co-produced by Puri Jagannadh. Karan Johar produced Liger under his Dharma production banner in association with Puri Jagannadh’s Puri Connects and Charmee Kaur. The movie was released in theaters on 25th August 2022. It will be now available on Disney+ Hotstar from 22nd September.
