Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon has bagged her first Best Actress Award at the 22nd edition of IIFA, the most prestigious award in the entertainment industry. She received the ‘Best Actor Female’ Award for her film “Mimi”. It took her eight years to win the coveted title after her debut film. The actress left everyone speechless with her spectacular performance in a new and challenging role of a pregnant woman.
Kriti Sanon has been flourishing in her career with films like Luka Chuppi, Bareilly Ki Barfi, and Dilwale. Unfortunately, in her career, she didn’t win the best actress award. Nevertheless, she deserved to win the accolades for the role she played in Mimi which was released last year.
Kriti expressed her excitement about winning the first Best Actress Award on social media. Talking to Instagram she uploaded a series of her photos holding the trophy dazzling like a Disney princess in a yellow feathered dress. She penned down a sweet gratifying note: “Dreams do come true! All you need to do is keep working hard towards it and never lose faith! It has taken me 8 yrs to get my first #BestActress award.”
The Raabta actress admitted that Mimi will hold a special place in her career. She is also seen kissing the golden trophy in one of the pictures she posted. Her note further read: “But I’m so happy that I received my first for #Mimi – a film I’ll treasure forever, a character that will always be special in my filmography! Thank you @iifa for this validation and for an amazing evening!! Will always be grateful to #Dinoo @laxman.utekar sir for making me your Mimi for life and the whole cast and crew of Mimi for making this journey so memorable (sic)”.
The Mimi actress entered the Bollywood industry with her debut film ‘Heropanti’ which also marks the first film of Tiger Shroff. Further, she made her mark and build up a name for herself in the industry with her acting skills and hard work.
Meanwhile, Kriti has ‘Adipurush’, ‘Ganapath’, ‘Bhediya’, and ‘Shehzada’ in her pipeline covering various genres. She was last seen in Bachchan Pandey with Akshay Kumar, and Hum do Humare Do with Rajkumar Rao.
