Filmmaker Karan Johar recently shocked everyone after an old video of him talking about wanting to murder Anushka Sharma’s career went viral. He confessed in an old press conference to wanting to completely murder Sharma’s career when Aditya Chopra signed her as the leading lady for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi in 2008. And it’s totally shocking! Netizens give remix reviews on that, some say that it is a great thing that he accepted it himself, but in my opinion, it does not seem worthy of applause. In this statement, celebrities like Kangana Ranaut, Vivek Agnihotri, and others slammed Karan, who often talks about Bollywood’s dark truths.
Going back to the throwback video, in an interview, Karan said, “I totally wanted to, completely murder Anushka Sharma’s career. Because when Aditya Chopra showed me her image, I was like, ‘no, no, mad or what, you signing her, you crazy! There is no need for you to sign this Anushka Sharma’. There was another lead actress at that time who I wanted Adi to sign and I was totally behind the scene sabotaging her completely. The movie also I was reluctantly watching Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.”
So let’s talk about why Anushka Sharma should have slapped Karan Johar at that time:
Karan said that he was about to murder Anushka’s career but changed his perception when he saw her movie, Band Baaja Baaraat. And when the filmmaker was telling this, everyone was laughing. Even Anushka was laughing uncontrollably as if he were telling a joke, but, dear, he was talking about your career. And think: if Karan didn’t like Anushka’s performance, he would have killed her career. It seems that for some people who have been unsuccessful in their careers, Karan will have a hand in that too.
