Upcoming sci-fi film Kalki 2898 AD is making all the right buzz. Initially titled Project K, the film’s final title and a teaser were unveiled at Comic-con in San Diego. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film has an ensemble cast of Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone. While presenting Kalki 2898 AD teaser on the international platform, director Nag Ashwin addressed the audience and compared Lord Hanuman with American superheroes.
In a viral video, he can be heard saying, “You guys (Hollywood audiences) love your superheroes very much. If you have Superman who can fly into space, we have Hanuman who can eat the sun. If you have a Thor or a Hulk who can break a building, then we have Hanuman who can lift a mountain.”
He then expressed that he is excited to introduce the Indian superhero in his upcoming film.

People are happy to see an Indian film being presented at Comic-Con. Nag Ashwin is garnering praise for his comment on Lord Hanuman. However, some users find it an absurd comparison. A user wrote, “Why comparing mythology and comic book characters???? …Its better suitable to compare our Hindu mythology gods with Greek mythology gods like Thor, Kratos,Zeus etc… this is a waste comparison”
Kalki 2898 AD is slated to release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and English languages on January 12, 2024.
