Talented actor Tahir Raj Bhasin is very excited about his upcoming web series titled ‘Sultan of Delhi,’ which is set to premiere on an OTT platform on October 13th. The series is directed by the versatile Milan Luthria, known for his expertise in action and thriller genres, with notable films like ‘Baadshaho’ and ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’ to his credit.
In a recent interview with ‘FirstPost,’ Bhasin shared insights into his approach for preparing for the role. He said, “I started by reading the book and gained a lot of detailed information from it, which gave me a basic understanding of the character’s psyche. The next step was working closely on the character’s look with Milan Luthria, and that was a fascinating experience as he pays meticulous attention to detail. Anything he does is always heavy on style. What was interesting during the preparation was mapping the journey of my character, Arjun Bhatia, and how he transforms from being a boy to a man. It’s rare to play a protagonist with shades of romance, heartbreak, intense friendship, dreams, and destiny.”
Discussing his upcoming release, Bhasin expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “It will be really special for me to deliver another success story with a project that is so close to my heart. I know I have given it my all for my director, Milan Luthria sir. For an actor, nothing feels sweeter than a hit. Thankfully, I have had a good run so far, and I’m grateful that people appreciate the work I do on screen.”
Bhasin also praised Milan Luthria’s portrayal of characters in his directorial works, saying, “It just fitted like a glove. I felt completely at home because that’s the kind of cinema I have grown up watching. Arjun Bhatia, as a character, is someone that viewers will sympathize with at different points. In Milan Luthria’s world, just like in life, nobody is purely good or bad; it’s a clash of processes that happens. You feel sympathy for both of them.”
Regarding OTT platforms, Bhasin emphasized their importance, stating, “It’s a tremendous platform in terms of the opportunities it provides to the technical team. Whether it’s cinema or OTT, the crew remains the same, including set designers and spot boys. It’s generating income in the industry.”
Tahir Raj Bhasin made his film debut in 2012 with a brief cameo in ‘Kismat Love Paisa Dilli.’ He gained recognition with YRF’s crime-thriller film ‘Mardaani,’ in which he played the main antagonist opposite Rani Mukerji and received a Filmfare Award nomination. The popular OTT star also left a mark with his performance in ‘Chhichhore,’ starring alongside Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor, which was a college drama and declared a super hit.
‘Sultan of Delhi,’ produced by Reliance Entertainment, will be available for streaming on Hotstar starting October 13th. All nine episodes are expected to deliver adventure, action, and thrills.
