French Comedy Dix Pour Cent To Have An Indian Remake

The globally loved and acclaimed superhit French workplace comedy "Dix Pour Cent" (2015) to have an Indian remake named "Call My Agent" by Applause Entertainment India for the digital Indian OTT webspace, which will have an stellar ensemble star cast of Soni Razdan, Rajat Kapoor, Aahana Kumra and Ayush Mehra in leading roles.

The hit PR agency workplace dramedy show Dix Pour Cent which means Call My Agent in English was created five years back in 2015 for TF1 Studio and France TV by show runner Cedric Klapisch and now the show has become globally so loved and popular that this French comedy Dix Pour Cent to have an Indian remake.

This is an exciting scoop of the day as the original 2015 hit French comedy Dix Pour Cent to have an Indian remake.

This is nothing new as nowadays it’s just the season and trend of song and remakes in Bollywood but here this remake is going to be on Indian OTT digital webspace thanks to Applause Entertainment and certainly this dramedy that premiered in France back in 2015, became an instant global sensation.

Call My Agent as the name itself says, is the story of a PR and talent management agency which is showcased and portrayed through the eyes of four high profile agents of Bollywood celebrities where this slice of life and wittily humorous and dramatic comedy will focus more specifically on the behind the scenes of the magic on screen and the madness behind which keeps the stars on top and viable along with making them globally loved faces ensuring that the star system is running.

Where we will also see how there is ego issues, dirty office politics, manipulations, shenanigans, insecurities come to the forefront as the agents sail together in this glitzy and glamorous world where each episode also features a real life A lister celebrity who would be seen playing the real version of themselves.

Speaking of this series, it has brought on board a stellar and apt ensemble star cast of Soni Razdan, Rajat Kapoor, Aahana Kumra and Ayush Mehra along with some prominent iconic actors from Bollywood fraternity who would feature as guest stars in each episode where after having directed many Bollywood films across various genres, ace and noted director Shaad Ali best known for Saathiya (2002) and Bunty Aur Babli (2005), will be directing this much awaited OTT digital webseries project.

Call My Agent storyline has been written by the super talented duo of Abbas and Hussain Dalal and is going to be bankrolled by Applause Entertainment in collaboration with Banijay Asia. This is going to be Banijay Asia’s third successful association with Applause Entertainment who have already produced two commercially hit season of Hostages on Hotstar. The show is all set to go on floors for shooting and filming in late October 2021.

Speaking about this official announcement , Sameer Nair who is the CEO of Applause Entertainment said, “At Applause, our constant endeavor is to find and tell universal stories that suit the needs of Indian audiences. After bringing American, British & Israeli formats to India, this series marks our first French format acquisition. ‘Call My Agent’, is a witty and wicked tale that will take our film loving audiences on an enthralling, comic and exciting journey into the lives of their favourite Bollywood stars.  Abbas and Hussein have done a delightful adaptation and in Shaad we have found the right partner to bring this show alive with a vibrant team of actors”.

On the same, even celebrated B Town director Shaad Ali said, “I have been a consumer of premium drama series and always been keen to explore it as a director. When Sameer discussed this opportunity with me I thought it would be  perfect since not only does the story excite me, it is a project with Applause Entertainment who has been producing a slate of prolific drama series over the recent years. We have put together a great team of writers and crew for this  project”.
