Chup: Revenge of the Artist is one of the aspiring projects of the ace director R Balki. The release date of the psychological thriller was announced yesterday. The much-awaited hair-raising edge-of-the-seat thriller will release on 23rd September 2022. Now the latest buzz around the film updates that Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan will make a debut as a music composer in Chup.
The film stars Dulquer Salmaan, Sunny Deol, Pooja Bhatt, and Shreya Dhanwanthary in the lead roles. It marks the return of south cinema superstar Dalquer to Hindi movies after The Zoya Factor. Sunny Deol and Pooja Bhatt will make a comeback to films after Blank and Sadak 2 respectively. The movie is super special as it marks the debut of Amitabh Bachchan as a music composer.
After delivering blockbuster films Big B will make the most use of his skills and talent apart from acting in movies. He is famous for his poetry and singing but his talent for composing music was less unknown. However, the 79-year-old actor opted to lend his craftily created music to R Balki’s Chup. It is said that he has created the end title track of the movie.
Talking about bringing Big B on board as a music composer, director R Balki said, “Chup is special for more than one reason. For me, the biggest reason is it marks the official debut of Amitabh Bachchan as a music composer. Amitji saw Chup and played an instinctive original melody on his piano as he relived the film. It was his way of expressing his feelings for the film, paying a tribute. This composition, his gift to the film, will be the end title track of Chup. I don’t think there can be an artist whose sensitivity can beat Bachchan’s and Chup has his touch!!!”
Chup is a tribute to legendary actor-filmmaker Guru Dutt who passed away in 1964 at the age of 39. Chup: Revenge of Artist is written and directed by R Balki who is known for making Paa, Padman, Shamitabh, Ki & Ka, and Cheeni Kum. It is produced by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Anil Naidu, Dr. Jayantilal Gada of PEN Studios, and Gauri Shinde. The romantic psychopath thriller will hit theaters on 23rd September 2022.
On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan is currently hosting the 14th season of the popular quiz show Kaun Banega crorepati aka KBC. On the filming part, he completed the shooting of Goodbye with Rashmika Mandhana and Neena Gupta. He will be next seen playing a significant role in Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra which will release on 9th September.
