Recently, Anurag Basu announced Aashiqui 3, a sequel to Mohit Suri’s Aashiqui 2 and Mahesh Bhatt’s iconic Aashiqui. The third installment of the musical drama will star Kartik Aaryan. The project is under process and the female lead is also yet to be finalized. Meanwhile, Anurag Basu is said to revive his most popular movie Life In A… Metro. For the sequel of the love and relationship drama, Ali Fazal has been brought on board.
According to a source close to Peeping Moon, Anurag Basu has initiated working on Life In A Metro 2, and he will start filming in December. The second installment will go on floors in Mumbai just like how the first part portrayed the city beautifully. Ali Fazal is said to play one of the lead roles rest information regarding the sequel and cast has been kept under wraps.
The source was quoted saying, “Anurag Basu has been planning to make LIAM2 for a long time, but it was only during the first COVID-19 lockdown that he cracked the storyline. It’s an ensemble cast film with a mix of familiar and new faces. Ali Fazal is already on board, while the casting of other leads is still in progress. Anurag is expected to finalize the entire leading cast in a fortnight.”
The source further stated, “The film is a fresh tale of different characters, each facing different issues and problems in their lives. It’s a sequel but drastically different from the 15-year-old film, which narrated the lives of nine people living in Mumbai and dealt with topics such as extramarital affairs, the sanctity of marriage, commitment phobia, and love.”
Life In A…Metro still remains one of the heart-touching Bollywood movies released in 2007. The movie is a tale of nine people living and working in Mumbai and how their lives change when their fates intertwine with their partners. The romance drama featured an ensemble cast of Dharmendra, Nafisa Ali, Shilpa Shetty, Kay Kay Menon, Shiney Ahuja, Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kangana Ranaut, and Sharman Joshi in lead roles.
The movie holds a playlist of evergreen songs composed by Pritam and sung by KK and other singers. Life In A Metro was widely critically acclaimed receiving numerous awards in various categories. Life In A Metro 2 will maintain the idea of multiple stories entwined with each other.
