India’s legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar left for heavenly abode on Feb 6. Her demise has saddened people across nations. In a career span of seven decades, Lata lent her voice to over a thousand songs in different languages. Her songs and achievements inspired millions of people for decades.
Soon after the news of her demise came out yesterday, actor Anupam Kher visited Lata Mangeshkar’s house to pay his last respects and console the grieving family. And today, the actor remembered the late singer during a conversation with his mother Dulari.
Anupam Kher has posted a video of his mother in which she can be seen recalling listening to Lata Mangeshkar’s songs on the radio. She said, “Yes, she is gone. The world gathered yesterday during her last rites. she used to sing beautifully. But she had left singing for the last few years. When the body is weak, it gets tough. We got our radio when Raju was in 10th standard. We used to listen to all her songs. There’s no singer like her, and no one can be as good as she was!”
Lata Mangeshkar passed away at the age of 92 due to multiple organ failure. She was battling Covid and pneumonia for the last one month.
