Late actors Rishi Kapoor, Sridevi, and Vinod Khanna starrer Chandni has completed a glorious 33 years. It was a big hit back then and is still recognized as one of the iconic films of Bollywood. The romantic drama was released in 1989 and directed by Yash Chopra. Now after a decade and 3 months Anil Kapoor provided a scoop that he was offered a role in Chandni.
Anil Kapoor asserted that the film was initially offered to Anil Kapoor but he rejected it. As the movie completed a milestone Mr. Lakhan revealed that he regrets turning down the offer. The Ram Lakhan actor tweeted, “33 years of Chandini a film which Yashji offered me but I regret not doing it .. Sreeji , rishi ji , Vinodji and Yashji we all miss you’ll so much.”
Well, this revelation happened when Anupam Kher shared a video of him and Anil Kapoor conducting a conversion infront of the gate of Yash Chopra’s house. Both revisited Chopra’s residence and remembered the late filmmaker’s contribution to their career. They shot a video of their conversation recalling good old times. Kher mentioned how Yash Chopra caught an eye on him during a play. The Kashmir Files actor uploaded the video on his official twitter handle.
Sharing the clip the veteran actor tweeted, “While going for morning walk in the morning @AnilKapoor and I #YashChopra ji stopped in front of the house and relived our old memories and also took blessings! Yash ji has contributed a lot in our (especially my) life! Thank you ji for your love! Incidentally, today is #33YearsOfChandni!”
So now we know Anil Kapoor could have been a part of the iconic film Chandni had he not rejected the offer. The film stars Sridevi, Rishi Kapoor, and Vinod Khanna in titular role. It is unknown which role was offered to Anil Kapoor, whether it was of Rishi Kapoor or Vinod Khanna.
On the work front, after the massive success of Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Anil Kapoor has an exciting slate of upcoming projects. Anil has four mega projects including Fighter, Bindra, Animal, and Captain in the pipeline.
On the other hand, Anupam Kher was last seen in The Kashmir Files. Recently he announced his 519th film titled Shiv Shashtri Balboa along with Neena Gupta.
