Jaya Bachchan Said Amitabh Isn’t Romantic With Her; Netizens Say “Toxic Relationship” And “Reason For Her Grouchiness”

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan are hailed as the power couple of the Bollywood industry, having lived happily with each other for almost five decades. The veteran actors tied the knot on June 3, 1973, in an intimate wedding ceremony. Later, after welcoming their children, Shweta Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan both embarked on the journey of becoming parents. Meanwhile, a video of the duo recently went viral on Reddit, Where Jaya revealed that Amitabh is not romantic with her. However, netizens are blaming the veteran actor for Jaya’s rude behavior.

In an interview with Simi Garewal in 1998 on an early episode of Rendezvous with Simi Garewal. Simi asked Jaya if Amitabh is romantic in his real life. Amitabh quickly said ‘no’, and Jaya replied, “Not with me.’ She laughed and said she have started to get into trouble. Amitabh then asked Simi what she meant by does he go and blend and propose, which Jaya explained as getting wine and flowers for their partner. She further said that her husband is very shy, and Amitabh said that he has never done such things. 

Then the veteran actress said that maybe if he had a girl friend, he would’ve done it for her. Simi then asked Jaya if he was romantic during their courtship; to this, Jaya says he never spoke to me, and Amitabh replied, “It’s such a waste of time.” 

As soon as the video went viral, netizens started giving their reactions. Many are upset with Big B’s behavior with his wife, Jaya. One wrote, “Did anyone notice AB say “It’s such a waste of time” when asked “You hardly spoke”. Rekha, in her interview with Simi had repeatedly mentioned that she hardly speaks with words. That her eyes were enough yada yada…”

The second user wrote, “Jaya’s grouchy behaviour is justified on so many levels. I actually feel bad for her cause she must have no way out, this dude is known to destroy careers if he is unhappy.”

The third user wrote, “The whole interview is bizarre. Shows how toxic and forced their whole marriage is. It’s sad it’s lasted as long as it has. Thanks to old beliefs.”
