The much-awaited trailer of Mirzapur 2 recently dropped on the internet and the fans of the show went crazy. The first season of the show was a rage amongst the audience and fans couldn’t keep calm to watch the second season. However, a section of people has called for its boycott. #BoycottMirzapur2 trended on Twitter moments after its trailer was released. And it all happened because actor Ali Fazal and Farhan Akhtar, producer of Mirzapur 2 took a stand against CAA.
Ali Fazal Reacts To Boycott Mirzapur 2 Trend:
Ali Fazal has reacted to this trend of boycott. He told a news portal, “We have to decide what is the bar we are setting. Are we at the mercy of a trend? No! I don’t look at art in that way. Are we at the mercy of one app that decides who will watch our show and who will not? No, I think this has really gone down. I mean if you are really talking about trends, I never saw any trends related to farmers – there have been protests everywhere across our country. But I wouldn’t say that it’s not an important story, it’s the most important story. Pandemic suddenly has become the last story on everybody’s mind. It’s not trending anymore but it’s still supposed to be the biggest problem that we are facing. I hope the people rise above that.”
He also said that the industry is trying to match the international standards and come up with something nice and that it does not want to be ‘regressed by certain factions of society.’
Mirzapur 2 will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video from October 23.
