Singh Is Kinng is a Bollywood film that was released on August 8, 2008. The movie stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. It’s a comedy film directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The film was well-received by audiences and became a commercial success. Today, the film has completed 15 years since its release, and a lot of memories are filled with each and every member associated with the film. Recently, the film director Anees Bazmee shared such an interesting incident while he was thinking about the film.
When the concept of fil came to mind while he was developing the idea, he reached out to Akshay Kumar, and without thinking twice, the actor readily agreed to be a part of the project.
According to Hindusthan Times, Anees Bazmee said, “I remember Akshay was shooting for a film in a different country. So I called him, shared the idea, and within five minutes, he was on board,” recalls the writer-director as his action-comedy clocks 15 years of its release. Sharing how much the actor had faith in him, Bazmee said, “After that, Akshay got so busy with other projects that we could never narrate the whole script to him.”
Further said, “That decision was made much later because I wanted to present Akshay in a fresh and unique avatar… to showcase something that he had not previously done. Initially, even the film’s title was different, and Singh is Kinng was finalised at a later stage.”
