Jodhaa Akbar 15th Anniversary: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan Pen Special Notes

Helmed by Ashutosh Govarikar, Jodhaa Akbar was released on April 15, 2008.

Yesterday, February 15 marked the 15th anniversary of Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s historical drama Jodhaa Akbar. Ashutosh Govarikar’s historical romantic drama revolves around Mughal emperor Akbar and Hindu Rajput princess Jodhaa who are obligated to marry for the well being of their states.

The film has achieved cult status over the years and is considered as one of the best historical films of Bollywood.

On the 15th anniversary, Aiswarya took to Instagram and wrote, “Jodhaa and Akbar’s love continues to shine brightly through the ages as a symbol of mutual respect, tolerance and open mindedness between a man and woman, husband and wife. Today we are proud to celebrate the 15th year since our journey that brought their eternal romance to the silver screen.✨”.

Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan also thanked the director and shared some BTS pictures from the film’s set. “Happy Birthday @ashutoshgowariker. Thank you for trusting me with the monumental responsibility of being a part of Jodhaa Akbar. Your direction & my incredible co-stars will forever be cherished”.

On the work front, both artists are busy for next few months. Hrithik will be seen in Siddharth Anand’s ‘Fighter’ where he will be seen sharing screen with Deepika Padukone for the first time.

On the other hand, Aishwarya will be seen in Mani Ratnam’s Tamil historical epic Ponniyan Selvan 2. The film, which also stars Trisha Krishnan, Jayam Ravi, Vikram and Karthi, is scheduled to be released on April 28, 2023.
