Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are both highly acclaimed actors in the Indian film industry, known for their contributions to Bollywood. Both the stars have their unique styles and have delivered numerous successful films throughout their careers. Aamir is known for his meticulous approach to selecting scripts and his dedication to portraying diverse and challenging roles, while Shah Rukh is recognized for his charismatic on-screen presence and romantic performances. While they are often compared and regarded as two of the biggest stars in Hindi cinema, it is safe to say that they are good enemies of each other.
It so happened that Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was released in 1996, and Aamir Khan’s Rangeela was also released after some time.
Both films were also box office blockbusters. But Aamir got more praise from the people for his acting than Shah Rukh.
Aamir, beaming with happiness, hoped that he would definitely win the Filmfare Award that year. However, it was not fair with him as Shahrukh won the award, due to which he was not happy and also got angry. And a few days later, it was claimed in the reports that SRK had bought the Filmfare Award, which further fuelled Aamir’s anger.
He openly opposed giving the award to Shah Rukh and not only raised questions about such award functions, but he also announced that he would never be a part of any award show in the future.
Shah Rukh and Aamir’s enmity increased even more when SRK made some sharp comments on the promotional strategy of Ghajini. Due to this, in anger, Aamir made some derogatory comments on Shah Rukh on social media. He wrote, “Mera kutta jiska naam Shah Rukh hai, mere talwe chatta hai, aur mein usse bread ka ek tukda dalkar puchkar raha hu.”
During an exclusive interview with Lehren Retron, Aamir Khan’s brother Faisal Khan was asked about this scene, he said, “Aisa bold statements…..haa meine bhi suna tha pehle ki unke yaha jo kutta hai Panchgani mein rehta hai. Unke Panchgani ke bunglow mein jiska naam Shah Rukh hai rakh diya tha yaa maali ne rakh diya tha. Muze Dukh hua yeh baat sunke.” He further said, “I don’t know ki Aamir ne apne kutte ka naam Shah Rukh rakhdiya, lekin mein apne kutte ka naam kabhi Aamir nahi rakhunga, kyunki dog jo hota hai kaafi loyal, sensible, sensitive, intelligent, usme yah qualities hoti hai and I thing Aamir has none of these qualities. So I don’t think I levelled name my dog Aamir.”
