“Amrita Singh’s Dog Was Very Violent & Untrained!” Sheeba Recalls How Amrita-Saif’s Dog Killed Her Pet

Veteran actress Amrita Singh during her marriage to Saif Ali Khan, lived in the same neighbourhood as the actress Sheeba and actor-director Akashdeep Sabir, with their apartments located in close proximity. The two couples who were once close but an unfortunate incident occurred between them because of their pets’ tragic incident due to which it led to the end of their friendship. In a recent interview with Lehren Retro, Sheeba recalled how Amrita Singh’s dog killed her pet leaving her “horrified” and devastated.

When asked about the tragic event, Sheeba confirmed it was true and explained what happened. “I was away for a shoot, and she (Amrita) had a very violent and untrained dog. It was a German Shepherd breed dog and it was not supposed to be unleashed. I love animals, and I understand how to handle different breeds,” Sheeba shared. She added that both couples were at work when this incident occurred.

Further Akashdeep elaborated on the details, saying that when Saif’s house help had opened the bungalow gate and that dog to ran out. And at that same moment, Sheeba’s dog trainer took their two Pomeranians on walk. “The German Shepherd attacked one of our dogs, pulling out all its intestines,” Akashdeep revealed. Sheeba shared how this experience was deeply upsetting. “I was horrified and heartbroken. We went through a really bad phase after this,” she said. The incident affected her so much that she decided to sell her apartment and leave the complex entirely.

Adding some humour to the conversation, Akashdeep recalled how his watchman had called him in panic saying, “Saab jaldi aao, Saif aapka kuttha kha gaya!” He initially misunderstood and joked, “Mera ek kutta kha gaya? abhi aur ek bacha hai, kahi Amrita na kha jaye usse raat ko!” He later realized the watchman meant that Saif and Amrita’s dog had attacked theirs.

Sheeba and Amrita Singh were once close who also worked together on 1992 film ‘Suryavanshi’ but after this tragic incident, their bond was never the same. The actress later shared in a different interview that she was so heartbroken that she couldn’t stay in the same home anymore.
