While the Kapoor and Sons actor captivated audiences with his candid remarks, Dutt frequently made news for reasons familiar to us all.
In Rishi Kapoor’s autobiography, Khullam Khulla: Rishi Kapoor Uncensored, the late actor recounted a fascinating story about the time Sanjay Dutt, accompanied by Gulshan Grover, came to his home with the intention of confronting him, and the cause of this altercation was actress Tina Munim. Indeed, you read that correctly! Please continue reading below.
Sanjay Dutt developed feelings for Tina Munim during his first film, Rocky (1981). Nevertheless, after spending some time together, their relationship deteriorated, reportedly due to his addiction issues. Subsequently, Munim was rumored to have fallen in love with Rajesh Khanna and eventually married
Anil Ambani. However, Dutt was displeased by the rumors surrounding Tina’s supposed affair with Chintu (Rishi Kapoor).
In his book, Gulshan Grover disclosed that he and Sanjay Dutt had intended to physically confront Rishi Kapoor due to his alleged affair with Tina Munim. They even visited his residence for this purpose; however, the situation took a turn when Neetu Singh intervened. Grover mentioned that the actress persuaded them that there was no such affair occurring in Rishi Kapoor’s life, a notion they quickly accepted, leading them to depart from the house.
Khullam Khulla cites Gulshan Grover, who stated, “It’s true. Sanju was involved with Tina Munim at that time, and he believed that Chintu was also having an affair with her. Sanju and I shared a brotherly bond, and one day he said to me, ‘We need to go to Chintu’s house and confront him.’ We set out to do just that, but his fiancée Neetuji was able to convince us that Chintu was not engaged in any such relationship. Consequently, we left.”
