Sandra Bullock Warns Fans About Social Media Scams, Raises Concerns For Family’s Safety!

Sandra Bullock’s warning comes after a statement from her younger sister Gesine Bullock-Prado, who recently took to social media to expose scammers creating fake profiles in her name.

Sandra Bullock has spoken out against social media scams using her name, warning fans about fraudulent accounts pretending to be her. In a statement to PEOPLE on Monday, February 3, the Oscar-winning actress expressed concern over these scams and their impact on both her family and innocent victims.

“My family’s safety, as well as the innocent people being taken advantage of, is my deep concern,” Bullock stated. “There will be a time when I will comment more, but for now, our focus is helping law enforcement handle this matter.”

The Miss Congeniality star also made it clear that she does not have any social media accounts and urged fans to remain cautious. “Please be aware that I do not participate in any form of social media. Any accounts pretending to be me or anyone associated with me are fake and have been created for financial gain or to exploit people around me.”

Sandra’s warning comes after a statement from her younger sister Gesine Bullock-Prado, who recently took to social media to expose scammers creating fake profiles in her name. On Sunday’s February 2, Gesine posted on Instagram, revealing that she frequently deals with fraudulent accounts, some of which deceive people into believing they are communicating with Sandra Bullock.

“I spend multiple times a day reporting fakes, dealing with weird & scary emails to my BUSINESS and HOME from men who believe that, through one of these many fake “me”s, they have a relationship with my sister through private messages and off app sites,” Gesine wrote. “Some of them have even given thousands of dollars to an incredibly famous and successful grown woman.”

She also highlighted how difficult it is to remove fake accounts despite multiple reports to Meta. ” When I report, i also report to a security service that gives the account addresses directly to a Meta employee. These accounts are run by crime rings. They also run fake groups where a fake me posts “official statements.” Not me.”

Gesine encouraged users to remain vigilant and take action against fake profiles. “If you see a fake account, or get friended or messaged by one, report and block it,” she urged.

This issue is not just exclusive to Sandra. Recently, a French woman was scammed out of over $800,000 by fraudsters posing as The Lost City star Brad Pitt. Such cases highlight the risks of social media impersonation and the importance of verifying online interactions.

Sandra Bullock’s firm stance against these scams serves as a reminder for fans to remain cautious and avoid engaging with fake profiles. While law enforcement continues to investigate, Bullock urges everyone to be vigilant and report suspicious activity.
