"I don't want to be the soft target anymore; I never met her," said Sooraj Pancholi as he broke his silence on being linked to the Disha Salian case. The actor denied any connection to Salian and said he's cooperated with investigators since 2021 and is ready to give more statements if needed.

“I don’t want to be the soft target anymore; I never met her,” said Sooraj Pancholi as he broke his silence on being linked to the Disha Salian case. The actor denied any connection to Salian and said he’s cooperated with investigators since 2021 and is ready to give more statements if needed.

Actor Sooraj Pancholi has broken his silence on the controversy surrounding the death of Disha Salian, saying his name has been repeatedly dragged into the case despite him having no connection with her. Pancholi said he had never met Salian or Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackrey and maintained that he was willing to cooperate with investigating agencies after the CBI named him among those whose roles required investigation in Salian’s death case.

Pancholi has responded after the Central Bureau of Investigation registered a first Information report in connection with the death of Disha Salian.

The CBI registered the FIR on Monday after the Bombay High Court directed a thorough probe into the case. The FIR names Shiv Sena (UBT) Leader Aditya Thackrey and his father and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackrey in relation to the death of Disha Salian, the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

The FIR also names actors Sooraj Pancholi and Dino Morea, along with Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty, among those whose roles require investigation.

Pancholi shared a detailed note on Instagram, saying, “Please read because I’m sure the media won’t cover this!” He said he was putting the statement in the public domain to clarify what he described as “certain facts”.

The actor also called on authorities to investigate what he described as “malicious propaganda and false narratives” surrounding the incident. He stressed that one person’s death should not become a reason to damage another person’s reputation without evidence.

Addressing the public, Sooraj said, “A headline is not evidence. A debate is not evidence.”

He concluded by saying that he has faith in the law and investigating agencies and believes the truth will eventually come out.
