Television actor Rohit Chandel, known for Pandya Store and Sairaab, was spotted outside the Mumbai Sessions Court after being granted bail in a POCSO case filed by a 16-year-old girl.

Rohit Chandel was arrested by Mumbai Police in July 2026 while shooting for a Star Plus show, Sairaab, after his 16-year-old costar filed a complaint accusing him of stalking, harassing, and physical assault. According to the complaint’s allegations, Chandel repeatedly contacted her from multiple phone numbers despite her objections, followed her, and confronted her near her residence, while allegedly verbally abusing and physically assaulting her.

Based on the complaint, police registered an FIR invoking sections of the POCSO Act along with relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to stalking and causing hurt. Chandel was subsequently arrested from his residence and remanded to judicial custody as the investigation proceeded.

Following his arrest, the makers of Sairaab replaced him with actor Krishna Kaul in the lead role, and the show has reportedly since gone off the air.

Chandel’s bail was ultimately granted by a Mumbai Sessions Court. Special Judge Shashikala S Nagur approved the plea after the actor’s counsel, advocate Saveena Bedi Sachar, informed the court that the chargesheet had been filed and the investigation was complete.

Under the terms of the bail, Chandel will be released on a personal recognizance (P.R.) bond of Rs 50,000 along with a surety of the same amount. The court has explicitly barred him from tampering with or threatening the victim or prosecution witnesses in the case.

For Rohit’s family, the past two months have reportedly been the toughest they’ve ever had to endure. In a note posted on Instagram, they opened up about the emotional toll of the ordeal, saying that despite everything, they never stopped believing that things would eventually work out in Rohit’s favour.

The post also carried a message of gratitude — the family made it a point to thank everyone who stood by Rohit during this time, from fans to close friends, saying their support made a real difference through such a tough chapter.

They also spoke about their continued faith in the legal system, saying the court’s decision to grant bail has only strengthened that belief. Looking ahead, the family noted that they plan to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation and remain confident that, over time, the facts of the case will come out.
