In an unexpected revelation, actress and Bigg Boss OTT 3 winner Sana Makbul recently shared her ongoing health battle, leaving fans deeply worried and concerned. The news broke when her friend Aashna posted a picture on Instagram, showing Sana on a hospital bed accompanied by a heartfelt message. This sudden disclosure sent shockwaves across her fan base, who were unaware of the serious turn her health had taken.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Sana Makbul opened up about being diagnosed with liver cirrhosis, a severe complication of autoimmune hepatitis, a condition she has been managing for quite some time. She revealed, “My immune system started attacking my liver more aggressively, and I’ve now been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis.” Despite the severity of her condition, she’s determined to stay strong, taking each day as it comes.

Currently, Sana is undergoing intense immunotherapy in hopes of stabilizing her condition and avoiding a liver transplant. “Some days are harder than others. But I’m holding on to hope. I just want to get better without needing something so big as a liver transplant,” she shared, highlighting the physical and emotional toll the treatment is taking on her.
The 31-year-old actress further explained that her health didn’t deteriorate overnight. She has been silently fighting this condition for a while, but things recently worsened, forcing her to put her career and professional commitments on hold. “I’ve had to pause a few things, and it breaks my heart a little, as I have worked really hard to achieve all the success, and now when things were falling into place, my health is not in great shape,” said Sana Makbul. However, her fighting spirit remains unshaken as she added, “I may be walking slower right now, but I’m still moving, and that’s all that matters right now.”
Throughout this difficult journey, Sana has found immense strength in her family’s unwavering support, calling them her anchor.
