Born on December 15, 1977, in New York and brought up in Delhi, Priya pursued her higher education at the London School of Economics, where she obtained a double major in Business Management and Mathematics. She began her career as an investment banking analyst before making a shift to modeling and acting. Priya made her appearance in the Bollywood film Neal ‘n’ Nikki (2005) and participated in numerous advertising campaigns, including one featuring Kareena Kapoor.
In 2006, Priya wed hotelier Vikram Chatwal in an extravagant ceremony that reportedly cost ₹100 crore. Their marriage concluded after five years, and they share a daughter named Safira.
In April 2017, Priya entered into marriage with Sunjay Kapur following a five-year courtship. The couple welcomed a son, Azarias Kapur, in December 2018. Additionally, Priya is a stepmother to Sunjay’s children from his prior marriage to Karisma Kapoor—Samiera and Kiaan. She has fostered a friendly relationship with them, frequently posting birthday greetings and family moments on social media.
In addition to her endeavors in fashion, Priya has launched several high-end boutiques throughout India. She is also linked with Sona Comstar, where Sunjay Kapur held the position of chairman. It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Sunjay Kapur on June 12, 2025, because of a suspected allergic reaction following the accidental ingestion of a bee during a polo match in England. This unfortunate news has been verified by Sona Comstar, where he served in a leadership role.
