Vijay Deverakonda is busy promoting his upcoming movie Liger which marks his Bollywood debut. Given the star status, his personal life has become the star topic. Moreover, after Sara Ali Khan confessed to crushing on the Telugu star on the Koffee with Karan chat show. He is also rumoured to be dating Rashmika Mandanna but the actor maintains that they are good friends. Amidst these, Vijay Deverkonda has quoted that being a public figure is collateral damage.
Vijay established himself with the hit movie Arjun Reddy further marking his significance with many movies like Dear Comrade, Geetha Govindam, Mahanati, and many more. He might have done only a handful of movies but racks up amazing works in his credits. The Taxiwaala has been in news for link-ups with co-star and the spotlight on his personal life doesn’t bother him.
In a recent interview for his upcoming movie Liger, he opened up on rumours creating gossip on his personal life. He said: “I think it’s just collateral damage of being a public figure. When people love you and want to know more about you, they’re just interested in your life. If there are news articles coming, I’m ok with it.”
He further added, “I’d rather be who I am and have these rumours written about me than be a nobody and have nothing written about me. So I’m ok with the not necessarily true stuff, or not necessarily productive stuff. I’m comfortable with it, it does not bother me.”
Vijay is being speculated dating his co-star Rashmika Mandanna. They have worked together in two films namely Geetha Govindam in 2018 and Dear Comrade in 2019. The heartthrob actor appeared on the Koffee with Karan 7 where the host Karan Johar asked him about his rumored relationship with Mandanna. Replying to KJo’s question the actor mentioned Rashmika is a good friend. He said: “We have done two films together at a really early stage in my life. She is a darling and I am really fond of her. We are really good friends. We share so much through films, lots of highs and lows. A bond gets created.”
Vijay is gearing up for the release of the latest movie Liger which is a pan-India movie. The sports drama directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by Dharma Productions stars Ananya Panday as the female lead. The film is set to arrive in theaters on 25th August 2022.
