Bramayugam Box Office Verdict: Mammootty’s Film Hit Or Flop?

Mammootty starrer Malayalam dark fantasy horror thriller film, Bramayugam has crossed the 15cr mark and is now inching closer to the 20cr mark at the box office.

Directed by Rahul Sadasivan, the Malayalam horror thriller film, Bramayugam was released in the theatres on 15 February 2024. The movie garnered overwhelmingly positive reviews, particularly for the stellar performances delivered by Mammootty, Arjun Ashokan, and Siddharth Bharathan, as lauded by critics. The film received a decent opening at the box office. Now that the film has finished its first week in theaters, it’s time to determine whether the film is a box office success or failure.

As per, Bramayugam earned a total ₹ 6 Cr on its first day (opening day) at the box office. The film earned ₹ 2.45 Cr on its second day (Friday), ₹ 3.35 Cr on Saturday, ₹ 3.85 Cr on Sunday. The film saw a major drop during the weekdays and earned ₹ 1.65 Cr on Monday, ₹ 1.35 Cr on Tuesday, and ₹ 1.20 Cr on Wednesday. Bramayugam currently stands at a domestic total of ₹ 16.95 Cr.

Bramayugam Hit Or Flop?

Bramayugam had a strong start at the box office, however, it experienced a noticeable decline in earnings throughout the week. Despite the initial promising figures, the significant drop in weekday earnings suggests a loss of momentum. Overall, while “Bramayugam” may not be deemed a complete flop, it falls short of achieving substantial box office success.

Bramayugam Story

The horror thriller “Bramayugam” is presented in black and white and draws inspiration from tales found in ‘Aithihyamala’ and a character named Kunchamon Potti. At the heart of the story is Arjun Ashokan, who stumbles upon Mammootty’s ancestral residence while escaping from his war-torn town. He finds himself bound to stay within the family’s home, forbidden from leaving.
