Rashmika Mandanna Becomes National Cyber Safety Ambassador

Rashmika Mandanna becomes National Cyber Safety Ambassador, using her experience to raise awareness.

National crush Rashmika Mandanna has been appointed as the National Ambassador for Promoting Cyber Safety by the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. This role follows an incident last year when a deepfake video featuring her went viral, leading to widespread discussions about online security. Now, Rashmika is using her experience to spread awareness about cybercrime and the importance of staying safe online.

In November 2023, a deepfake video surfaced on social media, where Rashmika’s face was digitally edited onto another person’s body who was in a black swimsuit. Though the video was fake, it quickly gained attention, prompting concerns about digital safety. After investigations, the Delhi Police arrested the person responsible for creating and spreading the video. Later, this event pushed Rashmika to take a stand against cybercrime.

Rashmika shared her thoughts, saying, “Cybercrime is a dangerous and widespread threat that affects everyone. I have experienced this firsthand, and I’m committed to raising awareness and promoting cyber safety for positive change.”

As the national ambassador, Rashmika will lead various campaigns across India to educate people about cyber threats such as online fraud, deepfake videos, cyberbullying and malicious content created using AI. These initiatives will focus on making people aware of the risks in the digital world and how to protect themselves.

She also shared a video on Instagram announcing her new role. In the video, she said, “My deepfake video was shared online, which is a form of cybercrime. After this, I decided to take a stand and spread awareness. I am happy to have the support of the Indian government. We must stay alert and safe.”

Rashmika’s involvement in this campaign is expected to make a big impact. The Ministry of Home Affairs believes that her influence will help spread the message of cyber safety across the nation, ensuring a safer online environment for all.

Alongside her work in promoting cyber safety, Rashmika Mandanna is also busy with several big projects. Fans can look forward to seeing her in movies like Animal Park, Pushpa 2, Chhava, Sikandar and more.
