The 55-year-old actor and producer Sohail Khan made a deeply personal confession on the latest episode of reality show Alliance, opening up about an incident from his childhood that he had kept to himself for years since he was a child. While speaking about bullying and ragging, Sohail shared that he got sexually harassed as a kid and only found the courage to tell his father Salim Khan after he became an adult. The actor said the experience shaped the way he now raises his sons, Nirvaan and Yohan.
“I Was So Embarrassed To Say It”
During a conversation with fellow contestants, Sohail explained why he always encourages his children to speak openly if something makes them uncomfortable.
He said, “I am very against ragging. Main hamesha Yohan ko aur Nirvaan ko yeh poochta tha, ‘Beta, don’t feel shy or don’t feel embarrassed to come and tell me that if somebody is bullying you,’ kyunki yeh mere saath hua hai.”
Recalling the painful experience, Sohail shared, “In fact, I was sexually harassed by somebody when I was young and I kept that within me for years. Jab main bada hua… when I actually became an adult, I went and confided in my father. I told him, ‘Daddy, yeh mere saath hua hai.’ He said, ‘Beta tune yeh itne saalon tak?’ I said, ‘I am so sorry, but I was so embarrassed to say it.’ Galti meri nahi thi. But at that time, you feel the shame.”
He added that because of what he went through, he constantly reminds his children, “Boss, kuch bhi ho jaye…” and asks them never to suffer in silence.
Fellow Contestants Appreciate Sohail’s Honesty
After Sohail shared his story, fellow contestants hugged him and praised him for speaking so openly about such a difficult chapter of his life. Many called him “damn brave” for encouraging conversations around a topic that often remains unspoken.
Sohail’s emotional confession highlights the importance of creating a safe space where children feel comfortable sharing difficult experiences. His message is simple but powerful – no child should carry fear, shame or trauma alone, and speaking up can be the first step towards healing.
