Oscar-Winning Anora To Now Screen On Red Lorry Film Festival

After winning 5 different awards at the 97th Academy Awards, Anora will now be screened at the Red Lorry Film Festival, that comes across as a good news for the fans across the place.

Filmmaker Sean Baker’s Anora dominated the 97th Academy Awards, securing five Oscars, including the prestigious Best Picture award. In recognition of its outstanding success, the Red Lorry Film Festival will feature the film on the big screen, celebrating its remarkable awards-season journey.

Directed by Sean Baker, Anora not only won Best Picture but also claimed awards for Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Editing, and Best Actress for Mikey Madison. Madison’s win was unexpected, as she surpassed longtime frontrunner Demi Moore, who had led the category throughout the season. Both critically acclaimed and commercially successful, Anora reached the pinnacle of its awards campaign with its Oscar victories. The film received six Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Actress for Mikey Madison, cementing its status as one of the most celebrated films of the year.

Talking about it, Ashish Saksena, COO – Cinemas, BookMyShow and Festival Director of Red Lorry Film Festival said, “We welcome patrons to catch the film of the year at the Red Lorry Film Festival. With Anora, we’re not just screening a film; we’re facilitating a shared artistic experience that simply cannot be replicated. As Sean Baker rightly said, the experience in cinemas is unparalleled. The subtle nuances of Mikey Madison’s award-winning performance, the masterful editing and Baker’s visionary direction deserve to be appreciated in an environment that honours the filmmaker’s craft.”
