Former Miss Uruguay, Sherika De Armas, who represented her country in the 2015 Miss World pageant, has passed away. For the last two years, she had been in a tough battle against cervical cancer, undergoing rigorous chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments. Her brother, Mayk’ De Armas, took to social media to share the heartbreaking news, expressing, “Fly high, little sister. Always and forever.”

At only 26 years old, Sherika’s death prompted an outpouring of tributes from her friends and family on various social media platforms. Carla Romero, Miss Universe Uruguay 2022, penned a heartfelt note, accompanied by cherished memories of their time together. “Friend. Too evolved for this world. One of the most beautiful women I have ever met,” she reminisced.

Miss Universe Uruguay 2021, Lola de los Santos, also honored Sherika’s memory through a touching social media tribute, recounting Sherika’s unwavering support and contagious joy. “You wanted everyone to shine and find their best version. I will always remember you,” Lola fondly recalled.

During the Miss Universe 2015 pageant in China, Sherika De Armas stood out as one of the youngest contestants, being among the mere six 18-year-olds competing. Though she didn’t secure a spot in the Top 30 at the time, she later ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing her makeup line and a range of hair and personal care products known as Shey de Armas Studio. Additionally, she actively contributed to the Perez Scremini Foundation, dedicated to the treatment of children with cancer.
