The former Aussie all-rounder was struggling with poor form in the 13th season of the IPL. However, when Chennai locked horns with Punjab, Watson silenced all the haters. The 39-year old played a match-winning knock of 83 runs off 53 balls.
During the game, Chennai opener duo Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson stitched an unbeaten partnership of 181 runs. This fiery knocks by the duo helped Chennai register a 10-wickets victory against Punjab.
Apart from Watson’s brilliant knock, his prediction for the game also went viral on the internet. In his recent tweet ahead of the game, Shane Watson had promised to play a perfect game.

Chennai has been struggling in the 13th season of the IPL but this outing against Punjab has clearly boosted their confidence. CSK chased the target of with 14-balls to spare and 10-wickets in hand.

The Chennai fans also praised skipper MS Dhoni for letting Shane Watson play this game against Punjab even when he struggled in previous matches.
Speaking of Chennai’s performance in the IPL 2020, it is their second victory in the tournament after playing five matches. The win against Punjab pushed Chennai on the sixth spot in the IPL Points Table.
