The former Aussie all-rounder was struggling with poor form in the 13th season of the IPL. However, when Chennai locked horns with Punjab, Watson silenced all the haters. The 39-year old played a match-winning knock of 83 runs off 53 balls.

During the game, Chennai opener duo Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson stitched an unbeaten partnership of 181 runs. This fiery knocks by the duo helped Chennai register a 10-wickets victory against Punjab.
