EXCLUSIVE: Shatrughan Sinha REVEALS Why He Named His Bungalow As ‘Ramayana’

The bungalow named on Lord Shri Ram's family, has received much appreciation from the fans. However, in a recent interaction with Lehren Retro, Shatrughan Sinha actively opened up about naming his residence as 'Ramayana'.

Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha is a legendary figure in the Bollywood industry, known for his unique style, powerful dialogue delivery, and magnetic screen presence. Fondly called “Shotgun” by his fans, he rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s, starring in blockbuster films like Dostana, Kalicharan, and Kaala Patthar. His on-screen persona, coupled with his commanding voice, made him a favorite among audiences and cemented his place as one of the most versatile actors of his time. Beyond his acting career, Shatrughan Sinha is also admired for his political journey and candid personality. But apart from the fame his political and bollywood career received, one thing that always appeared as a center of attraction for many was his lavish Mumbai residence, aptly named “Ramayana,”. The bungalow named on Lord Shri Ram’s familial roles, has received much appreciation from the fans. However, in a recent interaction with Lehren Retro, Shatrughan Sinha actively opened up about naming his residence as ‘Ramayana’.

Shatrughan Sinha talked about how his father named him and his three brothers as Ram, Laxman, Bharat and Shatrughna respectively. Unveiling the story he told that his parents had no children after marriage for quite a long time. Post that, they went to a traditional temple of Varanasi named, “Ram Ramapati Bank” and performed a lot of rituals to get blessed with a child. Sinha added that once a couple is granted with the wish, they are more probably blessed with four kids. This is how Sinha’s parents were blessed with four sons, and named as Ram, Lakhan, Shatrughan, and Bharat respectively. Coming up from a family like this, it was evident to name the bungalow as ‘Ramayana’, Sinha added.

In the interaction, Sinha further talks about how his father went completely disappointed on his choice of being an actor. On the contrary, mother Sinha was completely supportive of his career path, and granted him all the good wishes while he decided to go out on his way to FTII, Pune for learning acting.
