Monika Chauhan Says That She Admired And Loved Reena Kapoor Since She Was A Child

Actress Monika Chauhan is presently seen in Dangal TV’s show Ranju Ki Betiyaan as Shalu, the eldest daughter of Ranju played by Reena Kapoor. She shares that she has worked with Reena Kapoor in the past and also that she used to watch and admire her when she was a child and feels fortunate to be working with her again.

Sharing about working with Reena Kapoor, Monika says, “Reena ma’am is the sweetest on the set. My chemistry with Reena Ma’am is natural. She is not only my mother on screen, but she’s a motivation for me. She is so calm and takes everything practically. We have worked together before as well. I remember I used to watch her on-screen when I was a kid and used to love and admire her. Her character is so very inspiring and she is the same in real life also. She is down to earth and kind. She has been like a mentor and guide to me whenever I am stuck or need help. We have a sweet chemistry, she is extremely supportive and also guides me during my scenes. I have learnt a lot from her and feel very fortunate enough that I’m working with her again.”

Talking about their character similarities she says, “In the show, it is shown that I’m a carbon copy of Ranju and a shadow. We have a lot of similarities in person as well.  My emotions come out very naturally with her while shooting. She takes care of me like there is no world tomorrow and will keep asking or offering me food all the time. Even during morning shifts, when I get extremely tired she tells me not to get food and says that we’ll share and eat. It’s very sweet of her to do that. Her aura and positivity make the whole team so alive.”

Indeed Reena and Monika are like mother and daughter off-screen as well.

Ranju Ki Betiyaan is a heart touching story of a single mother Ranju and her struggles of raising 4 daughters in a patriarchal society. It delves into the various societal issues faced by single mothers, and will witness Ranju empowering herself to raise her four daughters single-handedly to help them achieve their dreams.
