Television actress Ira Sone is happy to celebrate her birthday on the auspicious day of Maha Shivratri. She talked about how they celebrate the birthday and the pooja at home.

Actress Ira Sone is seen in the popular Star Plus show Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan and also Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, a decade ago.

This year’s Maha ShivRatri has arrived on the same day as the diva’s birthday and speaking of the same thing, she says: “Fortunately it is my birthday too, but I have given up the typical celebrations like parties or gatherings for my birthday and have made the most of this auspicious day of Maha Shivratri. I am also a firm believer in Lord Shiva, needless to say, I will indulge in spiritual practices such as fasting and meditation to pay homage to Almighty Shiva and her divine union.”

To say more about this festival, she says: “Coming from a spiritual family, this day has always had great significance, and since I was a child my family have told stories that explained the significance of this day. We make a point of holding a puja every year at the temple where I remember asking the Panditji many questions which strengthen my belief in Lord Shiva. One of the many reasons to celebrate Mahashivratri is the divine union of Shiva and Parvati, which is also my favorite story.”

She continues: “In addition to this day being the divine union of Shiva and Parvati, it is also a day of spiritual growth and the birth of yoga according to the scriptures. So for me, this day is about joy and alignment.”

Ira also spoke about an important one that follows in this festival. She says: “There is a certain ritual that I follow. Ever since I came to Mumbai and started my spiritual journey. She goes on to say, “I prefer meditation, which calms my inner body and also gives me new energy, which detoxifies me from within and prepares me to work better.”

She ends her discourse by speaking of the lessons that today’s generation can learn from the union of Lord Shiv and Parvati, saying: ‘Maha Shivratri is the day of the divine union of Shiva and Parvati, and her love story it was so beautiful that I want to have a love story like hers. The things I have learned from their bond are mutual admiration, respect, and growth. Love like hers is so pure.
