Sudipto Sen’s directorial “The Kerala Story” was released back on 5th May 2023. Starring Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, and others the film gained a lot of attention due to its storyline which focuses on the forced & radicalization of women in Kerala. And after a long wait, the film finally made it to OTT platform ZEE5 on 16 February.
As per the latest reports, Sudipto Sen’s film, “The Kerala Story” has broken all the OTT records. Reportedly, the film amassed a staggering 150 million streaming minutes within just 3 days. Sharing the achievement OTT platform ZEE5 shared, “Setting another milestone with its bold narrative! 150 million watch minutes and counting”.
The Kerala Story Box Office Collection
On its first day, the Kerala Story earned Rs 8 crore. The concluded its run at the box office with a lifetime worldwide box office collection of approx. Rs 300cr.
About “The Kerala Story”
Directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the drama film, “The Kerala Story” stars Yogita Bihani, Adah Sharma, Siddhi Idnani, and Sonia Balani in the lead roles. The film was released on 5th May.
The movie’s storyline focuses on the forced & radicalization of women in Kerala. The movie reportedly claims that almost 32,000 women in the state were allegedly forced to convert to Islam while many were taken to “ISIS”.
