Zendaya Will Not Attend Met Gala 2022 Because Of THIS Reason, See Twitter Reactions

It seems like Zendaya fans are not soothed by the promise of future showstopping red-carpet moments, especially considering Zendaya skipped the 2021 Met Gala.

Zendaya has recently confirmed that she will not be attending fashion’s biggest event of the year. Dune star also revealed the reason behind it. During a red-carpet interview at a Euphoria For Your Consideration event, the actress told Extra, “I hate to disappoint my fans here, but I will be working.”

Wearing an extremely chic tailored ‘Fear of God’ suit with an oversized blazer, Zendaya continued, “Your girl’s got to work and make some movies, so I wish everyone the best. I will be playing tennis… but I will be back eventually.” She added, “I’ll keep delivering in other ways.” Based on her ‘Tennis’ comment, it seems like Zendaya will be filming her upcoming romantic drama, Challengers.

Zendaya will star as Tashi, ‘a tennis player turned coach’ who pressures her husband, Art played by Mike Faist, into competing against his former best friend and her former boyfriend (Josh O’Connor) in a tournament on the lower-level professional tennis Challenger circuit.

However, it seems like Zendaya fans are not soothed by the promise of future showstopping red-carpet moments, especially considering Zendaya skipped the 2021 Met Gala, which was held this past September while she was filming Euphoria season two. The responses to Extra’s interview ranged from ‘adding on to my villain origin story’ to ‘Zendaya stop this unfunny joke.’
