Taylor Swift Shares Deets Of Her Upcoming Album ‘Midnights’

Taylor Swift first stunned the fans with her surprise appearance at MTV VMAs and then elated them with the announcement of her new album.

Taylor Swift recently won video of the year at the MTV VMAs. However, while taking the award, the singer announced her plans for a new album set to release later this year. Taylor shared in her speech, “I had sort of made up my mind that if you were going to be this generous and give us this, I thought it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand-new album comes out October 21st.”

However, the Grammy winner singer later shared a social media post and revealed more details of her upcoming album. Swift also confirmed the title of the upcoming album is Midnights. The singer shared the cover art of the album. Swift also revealed that the album is a “collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams.”

Taylor wrote in the post, “For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching hoping that just maybe when the clock strikes twelve … we’ll meet ourselves.” Swift captioned the post, “Midnights, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out Oct. 21. Meet me at midnight.” Swift also confirmed that there will be 13 (her lucky number!) new songs on the album, though she didn’t reveal the track titles.

The singer’s recent album announcement comes almost a year after she released Red (Taylor’s Version) in November 2021. After Scooter Braun bought Swift’s former record label Big Machine and with it, the masters of Swift’s first six albums, the singer shared that she would be re-recording her entire catalogue so that she would own her art in August 2019. Since then, she has rerecorded two of her first six albums, including Red (Taylor’s Version) and Fearless (Taylor’s Version), which was released in April 2021.
