Michelle Yeoh Is Set To Return To Star Trek: Section 31; Details Inside!

Michelle Yeoh will be returning to her Star Trek: Discovery character for a new film based on the Star Trek black ops organisation known as Section 31.

With Star Trek fever sweeping the nation, actress Michelle Yeoh is all set to make a comeback with her own standalone film. The Oscar winner will reprise her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou in Star Trek: Section 31, which she initially performed during the first three seasons of Star Trek: Discovery. 

According to Paramount Plus, Season 31 will begin with the character following his departure from Discovery. Written by Craig Sweeney and directed by Olantunde Osunsanmi, the film will follow Emperor. “As she joins a secret division of Starfleet tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, she must confront the sins of her past.”

Expressing her thoughts on the same, Yeoh stated she is beyond thrilled to return to her Star Trek family and the universe she has loved for so long. ” “I’m beyond thrilled to return to my Star Trek family and to the role I’ve loved for so long,” Yeoh said in a statement. 

She further added that Section 31 has been near and dear to her heart since she began the journey of playing Philippa all the way back when this new golden age of Star Trek casting began.

The actress is eager to share what she has in store for her fans, and until then, live long and prosper.

Meanwhile, the news of the spin-off comes after it was revealed that Star Trek: Discovery will end after its upcoming fifth season. Additionally, Star Trek: Picard ends its third season on April 20.

Talking about Star Trek: Section 31, the makers have not announced its release date, but it’s stated to begin production later this year.
