Hollywood icon Michael Douglas, fresh from his appearance at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, is gearing up for an exciting week-long visit to India, including attendance at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa this November. The details of his packed itinerary were revealed in a report by ETimes.

As per the report, Douglas, accompanied by his family, including actor-wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and son Dylan, will delve into the cultural richness of India. The highlight of his visit is set to be a Bollywood party, where the actor will rub shoulders with Bollywood celebrities and industry insiders.

Long-time friend and producer Shailendra Singh shared insights into the plans to ETimes, stating, “We are having a fun-filled 24 hours in Goa before his work begins on November 27. We are hosting an intimate dinner for him that night,” followed by a grand celebration marking Singh’s 25 years in the industry, attended by Michael and various Bollywood luminaries.

The actor is committed to 78 engagements during his India trip, including dinners hosted by Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa, and Anurag Thakur, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting.

At IFFI 2023, Michael Douglas is set to receive the prestigious Satyajit Ray Excellence in Film Lifetime Award on the concluding day of the festival. Reports also suggest that the veteran actor may extend his journey to a city in South India, engaging with top actors from the region.

Having expressed his admiration for India during his previous visits, Douglas, in May at Cannes, mentioned his desire to explore the southern part of the country. He conveyed his wife’s love for India and her Bollywood dance skills, stating, “We want to go to the south from Hyderabad to Goa, to go around that area on our next trip.”

As Michael Douglas embarks on this immersive journey, India anticipates a memorable confluence of Hollywood and Bollywood glamour during his stay.
