Bad Boys was first released on 7th April 1995, it became a huge success and the cast returned with Bad Boys 2 in 2003 which performed well. Although both parts did great the third flick was not released until 2020 but this break helped the movie gain traction and it was received well by the critics grossing $426.5 million worldwide.
While thinking about the first movie Lawrence said “it was big” he added “For us to come together and prove that we can deliver, and we can pull people into the box office — that two Black stars, two sitcom stars, could make money at the box office — [was huge]. It also was an important pivot for him personally and professionally. I didn’t go to college, so I felt TV was my college years. I felt with movies, I had graduated; it was just different.”
While the franchise was a huge success, there was no news on the fourth part some people speculate and blame this delay on Will Smith’s action at the 2022 Oscars slapping Chris Rock on stage and resulting in a 10-year ban from any Academy events.
When Was ‘Bad Boys 4’ Announced?
In January 2023 Will posted a video on social media and addressed the fans “Yo, I’ve got an announcement. Y’all better stop scrolling”, Smith sat in a car and drove while playing Bad Boys 2 soundtracks. Will reached a house and knocked on the door and was greeted by Martin Lawrence who said “It’s about that time!” to which Will responded “Bad boys for life baby.”
The potential cast of Bad Boys 4
Some of the cast members who will be returning to reprise their roles are Will Smith and Martin Lawrence playing Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett respectively, In March 2023 it was confirmed that Venessa Hudgens will be returning for her role as a weapons expert. Some other members who can be seen in the fourth installment are Joe Pantoliano, Theresa Randle, Jacob Scipio, and Paola Nez.
When will the movie begin shooting
After the duo confirmed that there will be a fourth part of the franchise in January 2023, Productionlist.com confirmed that the movie is set to begin shooting by 3rd April 2023 and the actors will be returning to Atlanta for the shoot.
