Kanye West Wants To Be Incharge Of His Upcoming Netflix Documentary

Kanye West began his message by noting that, although he wished to do so without any confrontation, he wanted to have the last say on what went into the upcoming documentary.

Kanye West has demanded editing privileges on his forthcoming Netflix documentary, titled jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy. The 44-year-old rapper made his desire to work on the documentary known through a post that was shared on his Instagram account, where he also showed off a promotional image for the upcoming feature.

The upcoming documentary series has been in the works for several months, and it is scheduled to be made available to the public through the streaming service this year only. Meanwhile, Kanye West, who recently changed his name to Ye, began his message by noting that, although he wished to do so without any confrontation, he wanted to have the last say on what went into the upcoming documentary.

While expressing his desire, he wrote, “I’m going to say this kindly for the last time. I must get final edit and approval on this doc before it releases on Netflix.” The Bound 2 songwriter then demanded that he be allowed to tweak the upcoming docuseries in order to control how he is shown. “Open the edit room immediately so I can be in charge of my own image,” he wrote.

Kanye ‘Ye’ West finished his message by saying ‘thank you in advance,’ and he added a happy face emoji to the end of his statement. Development on the forthcoming docuseries was initially reported by Billboard last April. The media outlet also pointed out that creative duo Clarence ‘Coodie’ Simmons and Chike Ozah, who directed two of the rapper’s earliest music videos, would be directing the docuseries.

The upcoming project is also being co-produced by Time’s film and television arm, Time Studios. However, a source spoke to the media outlet and expressed that Simmons had been filming West’s activities ever since the 1990s. The upcoming multi-part series will utilize never-before-seen videos of the rapper, as well as various home movies. Jeen-yuhs will chronicle the performer’s rise to success and showcase his wide-reaching impact on popular culture.

However, another source expressed that the documentary series of Kanye West would also deal with the passing of the rapper’s mother, Donda West, his move into the world of fashion, and his controversial run for president in 2020. Meanwhile, it is currently unclear if it will cover his turbulent relationship and divorce from Kim Kardashian.
