K-pop group OMEGA X has reportedly bought their own tickets to return to South Korea following the allegations that their company’s CEO physically and verbally abused the members. The videos from the incident are also going viral on the internet. The news about the alleged assault first made headlines when a few fans of the K-pop boyband claimed that they witnessed the CEO abuse the members.
A fan took to Twitter and claimed, “(they) saw the agency CEO hitting the [OMEGA X members]. My hands were shaking so much, I didn’t know what to do. The members were getting hit in front of me, but I couldn’t do anything.” However, here’s everything you should know about K-Pop Band Omega X and the ongoing allegations.
Who Is K-Pop Band Omega X?
OMEGA X is a K-pop boy group that debuted in 2021. Though the boyband is not famous as BTS, they have received love from all over the world. Formed by Spire Entertainment, the K-pop band consists of a total of 11 members: Jaehan, Hwichan, Sebin, Hangyeom, Taedong, Xen, Jehyun, Kevin, Junghoon, Hyuk and Yechan.
Recently, allegations were made against Omega X agency’s CEO Kang Seong Hee who reportedly verbally and physically abused the members of the group. The company initially checked the facts and released a statement where they addressed the situation saying ‘all misunderstandings have been resolved between the group and the company and the members have decided to move forward while being considerate of each other.’
The news comes just a day after it was reported that an audio recording of an individual suspected to be Spire Entertainment’s CEO Kang Seong-hee surfaced online, allegedly screaming at OMEGA X members after their concert in Los Angeles.
OMEGA X’s Return To South Korea
According to recent reports, OMEGA X members had to buy their own flight tickets back to South Korea. Moreover, it was also claimed that police were dispatched to their hotel rooms following the cancellation of their flight. Omega X members and their manager reportedly booked a ticket back home on October 24, as reported by SBS News. The members were supposed to leave for South Korea on October 23 but their tickets were reportedly cancelled at the last minute.
CEO Kang responded by denying the reports and saying that the same had been planned for their safety. However, concerns, new allegations and evidence were raised with no further update from OMEGA X about their return while staff were sent back home. Meanwhile, on October 25, it was reported that the members had to fund their own flight tickets and had left for South Korea with one manager.
K-Pop Band Omega X Members Assault Video
A video is swirling on the internet which was first released by SBS News. The video was reportedly taken during an altercation between the CEO and OMEGA X member, Kim Jaehan. The video shows a woman verbally abusing a boy who is holding onto his knees as she calls him out for faking being a K-pop idol as he is always sick and does not ‘deserve’ to be one.
Meanwhile, in the second clip, the group is back in the lobby of their hotel as they are further yelled at by the same woman believed to be CEO Kang. The woman then mentions not being taken care of and ignores bad health of Jaehan. In the video, Jaehan seems to struggle and falls to the ground. Even after that, she calls him out and asks him to stand up. Jaehan then reportedly gets up and bursts into tears.
