Josh Duhamel and Audra Mari have joyously welcomed their newest family member, Shepherd Lawrence Duhamel. The Transformers star, 50, and his wife took to Instagram to share the exciting news, posting a heartwarming photo of their baby’s tiny feet. Shepherd Lawrence Duhamel was born on January 11, as revealed in the caption accompanying the post.
This adorable addition to the family joins Duhamel’s 10-year-old son, Axl, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Fergie. In a previous interview with Parade, Duhamel shared his son’s sweet reaction upon learning he was going to be a big brother. “He’s like, ‘Wait, now, am I going to be — You’re still going to love me, though, too, right?’” Duhamel recounted. Assuring his son, he added, “Of course, I’m going to still love you. … You’re still the firstborn son!”
Duhamel, known for his role in Shotgun Wedding, praised his son for being a loving and sweet kid who adores babies. Reflecting on his own childhood, Duhamel shared, “I just have always loved babies. There’s something about them. And he’s really good with younger kids. So I think he’s going to be a great older brother.”
In a previous interview on In Depth with Graham Bensinger, Duhamel discussed his aspirations for the future with Mari, whom he married in September 2022. Responding to comments about his desire for a large family, Duhamel humorously remarked, “That was when I was much younger.”
Mari chimed in, expressing her belief that Duhamel would have had even more children if he were younger. She shared, “I really do believe he would have five more kids if he was even 40 right now. It’s probably true. We’ll definitely have a few though. Hopefully, God willing.”
As Josh Duhamel and Audra Mari celebrate the arrival of Shepherd Lawrence Duhamel, their family’s love and joy have undoubtedly expanded with the newest addition.
