Joe Jonas And Sophie Turner Have Decided To Handle Their Divorce Proceedings Privately

The kids will be returned to their father by a nanny on October 21, after which the 'Sucker' hitmaker will have similar travel permissions until November 2.

The former couple, who separated last month after four years of marriage, reached an agreement regarding the custody of their daughters, Willa, aged three, and 15-month-old Delphine, earlier this week following mediation. Consequently, Joe Jonas has filed to dismiss his divorce petition in Miami, Florida.

According to documents obtained by the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column, Joe and Sophie have stated that they’ve reached “various agreements” and intend to “pursue an amicable resolution of all issues.”

After their mediation, the 34-year-old musician and the ‘Game of Thrones’ actress announced that they have decided their daughters will split their time between their homes in the US and the UK.

They issued a joint statement: “After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the US and the UK. We look forward to being great co-parents.”

Court documents, obtained by PEOPLE, indicate that the children will be with Sophie, 27, between October 9 and October 21. During this time, Sophie and her children are allowed to travel to England and within the US.

The kids will be returned to their father by a nanny on October 21, after which the ‘Sucker’ hitmaker will have similar travel permissions until November 2.

The celebrity couple has been instructed to “submit a status report letter,” detailing the progress of their mediation. It has also been decided that their temporary agreement will be in effect until January 7.

This resolution came after Sophie initiated legal action against her estranged husband, accusing him of preventing her from taking their children to the UK. Joe Jonas, however, maintained that he was adhering to a Florida Court order.

A representative for the music star explained: “After multiple conversations with Sophie, Joe initiated divorce proceedings in Florida, as Florida is the appropriate jurisdiction for the case. Sophie was aware that Joe was going to file for divorce. The Florida Court has already entered an order that restricts both parents from relocating the children.”
