Jennifer Lopez Predicted She And Ben Affleck Would Get Married In Las Vegas In 2002: Watch

Ben Affleck and J.Lo's Vegas wedding may have come as a surprise to them, but back in 2002, the singer and actress hinted that they would exchange their vows there.

Jennifer Lopez once predicted that she may wed Ben Affleck in Las Vegas! The singer, now 52, made the comment in 2002 while appearing on Total Request Live with Carson Daly. Following their November engagement that same year, the talk programme asked the actress, then 33, where she thought she would marry Ben.

“How are you guys  gonna do, like, a wedding?” Carson inquired. “How are you gonna try — is there a deserted enough island??” – a question that many people wanted to know at the time.

“I don’t know,” she mused before exclaiming, “Vegas!” Unfortunately, the couple never married during their first romance, which lasted from 2002 to 2004.

The Oscar winner and “Dear Ben” singer were slated to marry in a lavish ceremony in Santa Barbara, California in September 2003, but the wedding was put off owing to significant media attention. After a brief breakup, Ben and J.Lo reconnected – only to break up again by 2004.

The pair reunited 17 years later in April 2021 with a romantic holiday to Montana! The pair didn’t stop there, flying to Europe for her 52nd birthday and regularly hanging out with each other’s children.

Ben proposed again in April 2022, and they married three months later in Vegas at A Little White Chapel located on the strip at A Little White Chapel. “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.” Jen said in a lengthy and poignant statement delivered via her On The JLo newsletter, which also contained numerous adorable wedding images.

“Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world…for the world to recognize us as partners and to declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage,” she said.

“So with the best witnesses you could ever imagine, a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben’s closet, we read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives… at very, very long last,” she also said. The couple will celebrate with their friends and family at Ben’s Georgia house near Savannah.
