Jake Gyllenhaal Had Huge ‘Crush’ On Jennifer Aniston That Made Filming Intimate Scenes ‘Torture’

Jake Gyllenhaal revealed that filming intimate love scenes with Jennifer Aniston was not easy.

It seems like Jennifer Aniston has drawn the attention of almost every handsome man in the town. And Jake Gyllenhaal is no exception. In a recent interview with The Howard Stern Show, Gyllenhaal shed some light on his big crush on his co-star Jennifer Aniston.

The actor was asked by the host if it was ‘torture’ to film love scenes with somebody he fancied in real life. Jake Gyllenhaal revealed to the outlet that filming intimate love scenes with Jennifer Aniston was not easy because of his real-life crush on the Friends star. The actor opened up about filming the sex scenes as they starred opposite one another as lovers in the 2002 film The Good Girl.

The Good Girl plot follows two lovers who embark on an affair after they are each bored with their dead-end jobs and working environment. Jake jokingly responded to Howard’s question by saying, “It was torture, yes it was, but it was also not torture. I mean, come on. It was like a mix of both.” But he said that such is the ‘mechanical nature’ of love scenes he thankfully managed to keep his true feelings towards Jennifer well hidden.

The actor further said in the interview, “Weirdly, love scenes are awkward because there are maybe 30, 50 people watching.” He explained that filming intimate scenes is ‘a dance, like, you choreograph it for a camera.’ Jake said that Jennifer suggested they use a well-placed pillow between them to help them feel more comfortable while shooting in a horizontal position.

Jake recalled that it ‘was actually a Jennifer suggestion; she was very kind to suggest it before we began.’ Jake said Jennifer was like, ‘I’m putting a pillow here.’ Jake is typically tight-lipped about his love life, which has included a two-month romance with Taylor Swift near the end of 2010. When she released her album Red in 2012, multiple songs were rumoured to be about her breakup with Jake, although she declined to mention him by name.

In particular, the two smashes hit singles We Are Never Getting Back Together and I Knew You Were Trouble were widely regarded as being directed at Jake. His dating history has also included Kirsten Dunst, whom he was introduced to by his actress sister Maggie Gyllenhaal.
