In response to an Instagram user’s query about how the -year-old died, Drena replied that her son had been sold fentanyl-laced pills.

“Someone sold him fentanyl-laced pills that they knew were laced, yet still sold them to him,” she wrote. “So, for all these people still messing around selling and buying this stuff, my son is gone forever.”

Drena shared the news of her son’s death a few days ago through an Instagram post. Robert De Niro also expressed his profound grief over the loss of his grandson. “I’m deeply distressed by the passing of my beloved grandson Leo,” he stated. “We’re greatly appreciative of the condolences from everyone. We ask that we please be given privacy to grieve our loss of Leo.”

Leandro, born to Drena De Niro and artist Carlos Mare, had also pursued acting. He had credits in three projects, including “The Collection” in 2005, “Cabaret Maxime,” and “A Star Is Born” in 2018, all of which featured his mother alongside him.
